Emotion Poetry & Prose

By Carrie-ann Sudlow

Forgive me

Forgive me if I’m abrupt and my tone a little Sharpe,
I mean no harm in any way, no bite follows my bark.

Forgive me if I tell you I need space and time,
whatever problems I may have are honestly just mine.

Forgive me if I act as if I don’t give a damn,
when at times I’m insecure, I hide it all I can.

Forgive me if I hold from you my thoughts and what I feel,
it won’t be anything serious, it won’t be any big deal.

Forgive me for this poem and its simple form I write.
I’d rather keep you out of the dark and firmly in the light.
